Great Lakes Custom Tool Mfg., Inc. acquires Sonnet Tools technology of TRUE HELIX Carbide Milling Cutters.

As a leader in carbide blade technology Great Lakes Custom Tool Mfg., Inc. has been manufacturing custom cutting tools for the woodworking and non-ferrous industries for over 28 years. Honoring that commitment to its customers, Great Lakes Custom Tool has acquired the exclusive rights from Sonnet Tool to manufacture Helicarb® tooling and further expand its product line.

Helicarb® TRUE HELIX carbide milling cutters and Heligrip technology is a perfect fit for existing customers and new markets in the metal cutting industry. With these proven technologies, GLCT feels that this acquisition combined with its reputable quality tooling provides a total cutting tool solution.

March 26, 2009:

Great Lakes Custom Tool Mfg., Inc. acquires Paso Robles’ technology of twisted carbide and today manufacture power plane cutters and face frame trimmers at their manufacturing facility in Peshtigo, WI.

June 12, 2013:

Great Lakes Custom Tool Mfg., Inc. purchases yet another company, AAA Precision Tool & Cutter Grinding, Inc. of Orofino, ID. This manufacturing environment provides tooling to a vast array of customers/manufacturers, including, but not limited to: automotive, hydraulic, agricultural, electrical, medical, recreation, aerospace, machine manufacturers, ammunitions, etc.

Like GLCT, AAA designs the perfect tool for the application at hand. Not only do our two companies manufacture custom tooling, we also modify and recondition them as well. AAA Precision Tool & Cutter Grinding has always put our customer’s needs first and with that in mind, we are excited about this new opportunity.

Update: As of late 2020, all AAA operations have moved to our newly expanded GLCT facility in Peshtigo, Wisconsin.
